Alex has been an accountant at Walshs since 2021. With a focus on delivering second-to-none client service, Alex is committed to providing the best possible outcome for all Walshs clients.

Alex holds a Bachelor of Advanced Business (Hon) with majors in Accounting, Business Analytics, and Finance from the University of Queensland and is a provisional member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.

Alyssa joined the team in 2025, bringing over five years of experience as a Mortgage Broker Assistant. Since 2020, she has supported brokers by managing documentation, coordinating applications, and ensuring compliance throughout the mortgage process. Alyssa holds a Master’s degree in Professional Accounting, equipping her with strong financial expertise and exceptional attention to detail. She is passionate about optimizing processes and helping brokers deliver a seamless, stress-free experience for clients.

Bailey started at Walshs in 2023 and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting). With a focus on providing exceptional customer service and support to clients, Bailey is a dedicated and detail-oriented accountant. He specialises in providing comprehensive solutions for individuals and businesses, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Ben first joined public practice in 2016, he brings together a wide range of accounting and taxation knowledge with a focus on SME’s, high net worth individuals and the health sector. Further to this Ben specialises in management accounting, business development, business valuations and the due diligence process. This has enabled him to provide sound advice for clients throughout their business lifecycles.

His congenial character enables him to develop close working relationships with clients whilst focusing on achieving holistic outcomes. Ben holds a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia.

Briar Te Rangiita joined Walshs in 2026 as a Client Services Coordinator, bringing with her a strong background in customer service and a commitment to delivering a high-quality client experience. Originally from New Zealand, Briar has recently relocated to Brisbane and enjoys building new relationships both within the firm and with clients.

For over 38 years, Cheryl has worked as a bookkeeper and is knowledgeable in all facets of bookkeeping. Cheryl joined the Walshs team in 2017. As the manager of the bookkeeping team she supervises accounting and bookkeeping tasks, BAS and IAS, superannuation, Workcover and compliance for a variety of clients and entities.

Cheryl specialises in on-boarding new clients and seeing them through from initial set up to end of year processing and communicating along the way with one-on-one training and support. Her passion is to see her clients grow and achieve their goals and dreams and assisting them along the way.

Cheryl has a Certificate IV in Financial Services and is a registered BAS agent and a member of the Australian Bookkeepers Association.

Chloe joined the Walshs team in 2025 after relocating to Brisbane, bringing with her 10 years of experience in accounting and taxation from New Zealand. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting and Finance, from the University of Otago.

As a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ), Chloe is dedicated to providing high-quality tax advice and delivering personalised, client-focused service.

Dishan is a dedicated accounting and finance professional with a Master of Professional Accounting from CQ University (completed November 2025) and a BA (Hons) in International Business & Finance from the University of the West of Scotland. He brings a strong blend of academic knowledge and practical experience, having served as a lecturer in accounting, economics, and statistics for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Gemma joined Wealth Health team in 2024. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a double major in Accounting and Finance.

Gemma started her accounting career with corporate practice before joining Walshs.

With a focus on providing tax and accounting services, Gemma is committed to providing friendly and professional client service and achieving the best result for all of my clients.

Gemma is currently working on a CA program and is aiming to finish within two years.

Gemma is an undergraduate accountant at Walshs, working within the Wealth Health team. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Advanced Business at the University of Queensland, majoring in Accounting and Business Analytics. Gemma is committed to delivering high-quality tax and accounting services through strong attention to detail and analytical skills, while remaining focused on building professional client relationships.

After graduating from Havelock North High School in 2017, Georgia completed a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) at Massey University in 2023. Georgia’s professional background includes roles with Mainfreight Ltd’s Head Office from 2019 to 2023 and a retail community team from 2024 to 2026, where strong skills in communication, teamwork, and relationship building were developed.

As a Partner and industry specialist at Walshs, Hugh’s emphasis is on building trusted long-term relationships with his clients to help them grow, protect and manage their wealth.
Hugh offers a wide range of skills and experience in providing strategic business and taxation advice to help his clients achieve their goals and manage their financial compliance. Hugh is known for collaborating closely with his clients, working together through every step of their business development.

Prior to joining Walshs, Hugh worked with various companies in Australia and abroad including PwC, Suncorp and CS Energy, he is a Director and Board member of Aussie Kidz Charity Ltd, and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Hugh holds a Bachelor of Commerce, a Bachelor of Economics, a Master of Business Administration, a Diploma of Financial Planning and is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand.

Jet joined Walshs in 2022 after five years as an operational manager in the education industry. As a Senior Accountant, he works closely with clients to deliver tailored tax and accounting solutions. Jet combines strong business insight with technical expertise to achieve outstanding results for individuals and businesses. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce and is a fully qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).

Jimmy joined the Walshs team in 2024, bringing with him extensive experience in taxation, with a particular focus on sole traders and small businesses. He is dedicated in delivering the best outcomes for all clients.

Jimmy holds a Bachelor of Business with a major in Finance, a Master’s in Professional Accounting, and is a member of CPA Australia.

Jin-Sung joined Walshs in 2023 where he will focus on tax and accounting services for our Private Practice clients. He spent over two years as an accountant working in a role where he looked after small trading businesses such as cafes, restaurants and other small traders.

Jin-Sung graduated with a Master of Accounting from the University of Tasmania and plans to become a CA very soon whilst. In the meantime he looks forward to working with Walshs clients and gaining further expertise in tax and accounting services.

Johanna has been a Senior Bookkeeper at Walshs since 2011. With over 35 years’ experience covering a variety of business entity and medical practice bookkeeping, Johanna provides expert knowledge to her clients, including an in-depth knowledge of payroll and Super obligations. Johanna is very focused on driving great client outcomes and works closely with many of our longstanding and valued clients.

Joshua is completing a Bachelor of Business with a major in Accounting at QUT, developing a strong foundation in financial reporting, analysis, and business strategy. His professional background includes business‑to‑business sales and experience supporting clinical equipment loan services within a major hospital environment, where he gained valuable exposure to operational processes, stakeholder coordination, and service delivery in a high‑demand setting.

Josh joined the Walshs team in 2018 after relocating to Brisbane from North Queensland, he has worked in the Accounting profession since 2011 starting as a Accountants Clerk in high school. He holds a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Accounting and Financial Management, from the James Cook University. As a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ), Josh is dedicated to providing high-quality tax advice and delivering personalised, client-focused service.

Kang started at Walshs in July 2024 as a graduate accountant in the Wealth Health Team.

Kang finished her Bachelor of Business (Accounting) at QUT in July 2024. Kang looks forward to delivering exceptional client service as an Accountant at Walshs and to commence her studies to become a Charted Accountant.

Katie works with medical professionals at all stages of their careers, providing tailored advice on tax planning, business structuring and strategic financial management. With more than nine years of experience, she understands the unique financial considerations doctors face, from navigating training to building a private practice.

Her career includes two years as a Commercial CFO for a fast-growing technology start-up, where she developed a strong commercial perspective and expertise in operational strategy, financial systems and business growth. Combined with her professional services background, this enables Katie to deliver advice that is both technically sound and commercially practical. Katie is passionate about helping her clients make confident financial decisions, supporting them to achieve their goals and build long-term financial security.

Kristyn joined Walshs in 2026 as a Client Services Coordinator. She brings a diverse background across client services, events, administration, allied health, marketing and graphic design. Kristyn is a natural problem-solver who thrives on building strong client relationships and delivering support that makes a meaningful difference.

Lucy joined Walshs in 2021 as Matt Gellweiler’s Personal Assistant. She has since become a key part of our Wealth Health Division as Team Leader and also works closely with our General Manager, Annabelle Clare, as Operations Assistant. With a strong focus on ensuring high client standards, Lucy is dedicated to delivering exceptional service and support to both clients and the team.

Madison joined Walshs in 2026, she holds over four years of administrative and personal assistant experience. She supports the day‑to‑day operations of the business and helps ensure clients receive a seamless, positive experience. In her role as P.A. to Katie Brock and Client Service Coordinator, Madison provides reliable client support and works closely with the wider team to maintain efficient and consistent service.

Marvellous holds a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management and has gained practical experience within logistics and customs clearance operations. She has completed a Master of Professional Accounting at Griffith University, during which she contributed to the Griffith Tax Clinic by preparing individual tax returns and supporting work involving BAS, GST, and PAYG. She has also volunteered with Trailblazer Community Care, undertaking a variety of administrative responsibilities. Marvellous is committed to advancing her professional development and is working toward becoming a Chartered Accountant.

Meg started at Walshs in 2022. With over six years of experience in administration and client services, Meg is dedicated to providing exceptional support and ensuring smooth operations within the team. As the Personal Assistant to Hugh Walsh, Meg’s strong communication and organisational skills enable her to consistently deliver friendly and efficient client experiences. 

Mel has recently joined the team as Personal Assistant to Hugh Walsh, bringing with her a wealth of C‑suite Executive support experience gained across a diverse range of industries. With a strong foundation built on a Bachelor of Arts, she is known for her energy, relationship‑driven approach, and commitment to delivering seamless operational support. Mel thrives on creating meaningful connections and ensuring colleagues and clients alike experience exceptional, reliable service.

Merin joined Walshs in October 2025 as a Junior Accountant within the Wealth Health team, where she supports tax compliance, client advisory, and a range of financial processes. She recently completed a Master of Business in Professional Accounting at Queensland University of Technology. Merin is a highly driven professional committed to continuous learning and development, with a strong focus on refining her expertise and helping clients achieve their financial objectives.

Michael Walsh is the founder and CEO of Walshs Accounting and Taxation. Michael has over 30 years’ experience advising SMEs, professionals and high net worth individuals. He specialises in business and tax-effective structures, business management, taxation and superannuation.

Michael is the holder of a Bachelor of Commerce, Diploma in Financial Management, Diploma of Financial Planning, is a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Taxation Advisor, accredited SMSF Specialist and authorised financial planner.

Murray joined Walshs in 2022 after starting his journey in public practice in 2021. Murray spent a number of years working as an accountant in the commercial area, he is a full member of CPA Australia and holds a Bachelor of Commerce.

Naomi has been working at Walshs Practice since 2015 and has worked in a variety of divisions of the business. Naomi is passionate about ensuring all of the Walshs Team feel supported and have a positive experience working at Walshs. She does this by implementing her skills as a counsellor and drawing on her experience working at Walshs.

Naomi became HR Manager in 2022 and is an ACA Level 2 Counsellor, who holds a Master of Counselling and Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology) from QUT.

Natalia is a junior accountant with a Bachelor of Commerce, holding a double major in Accounting and Finance from the University of Queensland. Her work, within the wealth health team, focuses on the preparation of tax returns, where she demonstrates strong attention to detail, a commitment to accuracy, and an understanding of individual client requirements. She prioritizes building professional relationships and consistently aims to deliver high‑quality outcomes that support both client objectives and the firm’s standards.

Nav joined the Walshs team in 2024, bringing over 10 years of experience in accounting and taxation, with a focus on small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). He specialises in working with medical professionals in both public and private practice, having gained first-hand insight into the unique financial needs of this sector through his wife’s career progression from an intern junior doctor to a member of the general surgery team.

Nav is passionate about building long-lasting relationships with clients, offering personalised advice to help manage their tax affairs and achieve the best outcomes. He has also mentored junior accountants, helping them grow in their careers.

Nav holds a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting and is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand.

Nehal is a Junior Tax Accountant at Walshs, having joined the firm in 2025. She brings 1.5 years of experience specializing in preparing and reviewing tax returns for individuals and sole traders. Holding a Bachelor’s in Commerce and a Master’s in Economics, she offers strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of financial and tax principles. Nehal is dedicated to advancing in the field and is currently working toward becoming a Chartered Accountant, with a commitment to delivering accurate, compliant, and efficient tax services.

Quynh started with Walshs in 2023.

Quynh is committed to provide quality tax and accounting services to clients whilst ensuring they enjoy their Walshs experience.

Quynh graduated from the University of Queensland with a Master of Commerce, majoring in Accounting and Finance and is set to commence Chartered Accountant studies in 2024.

Roarke is an accountant at Walshs, having worked in the Industry since 2019. With a focus on delivering tax and accounting services, Roarke is committed to providing an exceptional outcome to all Walshs clients. Currently holding a Bachelor of Commerce with majors in Accounting and Finance from the University of Queensland and is a provisional member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.

Ruby first joined Walshs in 2024 as a receptionist, where she developed a strong foundation in client service. In 2025, she returned as a Client Services Coordinator, bringing with her a wealth of front-line experience and a commitment to delivering the highest standard of care. In this role, Ruby is dedicated to ensuring every client feels welcomed, supported, and confident in the service they receive.

Sam joined Walshs as an SMSF Accountant in 2024, bringing with him over six years of specialised experience in Self-Managed Super Funds. He is passionate about helping clients achieve strong outcomes while staying ahead of the ever-evolving SMSF compliance and strategy landscape. Sam holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Economics, is a certified SMSF Specialist Advisor (SSA®) through the SMSF Association and is a proud member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

Sandra has over 25 years’ experience in the taxation field and has been at Walshs Practice since 2001.

Sandra’s qualifications include:
– Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand (CA ANZ), Graduate Diploma in Advance Accounting (Queensland University of Technology), Bachelor of Business (Accountancy) (Queensland University of Technology)

She specialises in providing accounting and taxation services to taxpayers, including employees, investors and retirees and small business clients operating as sole traders, companies, trusts and partnerships. She also plays an integral part in the training and mentoring of our junior staff.

Sarina has worked as a bookkeeper for over 6 years, and she joined the Walshs team in 2018. Sarina is very focused on client service and attention to detail.

She holds a Certificate IV in Bookkeeping.

Sophia is an Undergraduate Accountant at Walshs and is currently completing her final semester at QUT. Prior to joining the team, she worked in hospitality, gaining strong customer service and multitasking experience. Sophia is fluent in two additional languages besides English and is currently learning Korean, reflecting her enthusiasm for ongoing personal and professional development.

Tanya joined the Walshs team in 2017 and has been working with a variety of clients including business and investment groups. Tanya is committed to working with clients on developing meaningful relationships and achieving the best outcomes.

Tanya graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (Distinction) from the University of Southern Queensland, is a Chartered Accountant, Qualified Justice of the Peace, and a Fellow of the Tax Institute.

Tilly joined Walshs in 2023, bringing a strong background in customer service from roles focused on positive client outcomes and effective communication. She began her career at Walshs as Tyson Rech’s Client Services Coordinator, later progressing into the role of his Personal Assistant, where she strengthened her commitment to delivering exceptional service and ensuring a seamless experience for clients. In late 2025, Tilly moved into the role of Wealth Health Team Leader. In this position, she supports her team to deliver high quality returns and plays an important role in developing the next generation of Walshs accountants so they can continue to provide outstanding outcomes for our clients.

Tim first joined Walshs in 2003 as a Graduate Accountant. In 2007 he left for the UK, where he gained extensive experience with large multi-national businesses that included the likes of Tate & Lyle Sugar, and IMG.

He has worked with different business sizes across varied industries, most recently focusing on the Property and Construction industries. Tim has returned to Walshs to focus on his sweet spot of helping clients in the SME space. His client centric and commercial approach allows him to communicate appropriate action plans clearly and facilitate development of future strategic goals.
Tim holds a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting, Diploma of Financial Planning and is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand.

Waiata started at Walshs early August of 2024 and joined the Wealth Health Team as a Client Service Co-Ordinator.

She has previously worked in customer service which has given her great communication and people skills as well as an outgoing personality which she will bring to the workplace.

Waiata is looking forward to gaining skills in a professional work environment and meeting new people.

Yasmynn brings over six years of experience in administration and client support, complemented by four years of entrepreneurial experience as the owner and operator of a beauty salon. This background has strengthened her capabilities in customer relations, business operations, and team coordination. She holds several professional certifications, including a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, and is currently completing a Diploma of Leadership and Management to further enhance her leadership, management, and professional development skills.
