Michael Walsh

CEO – Accounting & Taxation

Michael Walsh is the founder and CEO of Walshs Accounting and Taxation. Michael has over 30 years’ experience advising SMEs, professionals and high net worth individuals. He specialises in business and tax-effective structures, business management, taxation and superannuation.

Michael is the holder of a Bachelor of Commerce, Diploma in Financial Management, Diploma of Financial Planning, is a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Taxation Advisor, accredited SMSF Specialist and authorised financial planner.

Hugh Walsh

Director – Accounting & Taxation

As a Partner and industry specialist at Walshs, Hugh’s emphasis is on building trusted long-term relationships with his clients to help them grow, protect and manage their wealth.
Hugh offers a wide range of skills and experience in providing strategic business and taxation advice to help his clients achieve their goals and manage their financial compliance. Hugh is known for collaborating closely with his clients, working together through every step of their business development.
Prior to joining Walshs, Hugh worked with various companies in Australia and abroad including PwC, Suncorp and CS Energy, he is a Director and Board member of Aussie Kidz Charity Ltd, and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Hugh holds a Bachelor of Commerce, a Bachelor of Economics, a Master of Business Administration, a Diploma of Financial Planning and is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand.

Stewart McLeod

Director – Accounting & Taxation

Having a wealth of experience dealing with taxation, financial statements, GST, tax planning, SMSF, structures and ATO compliance, Stewart’s aim is to help his clients become financially independent. There are many facets that come together to help clients achieve this and there is no blanket approach that works for everyone. Stewart fully evaluates the situation, the needs and requirements along with the clients’ priorities to formulate an appropriate action plan not only short term but also long term. Stewart works with professionals that have or are about to embark on entering into a new phase of their career where the use of the most appropriate tax structure is crucial.

Stewart holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Physical Education, Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking, is a Chartered Taxation Advisor and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand

Annabelle Clare

General Manager

Annabelle joined the administration team at Walshs in 2016 and has since worked in client services; personal assistant roles to Hugh Walsh and Stewart McLeod; as well as leading the administration team. Annabelle moved into the Practice Management role in 2019 where she works with the partners in facets of people and operations management. She draws on her extensive knowledge in business operations as a previous business owner.

Annabelle is passionate about people and business leadership, as well as ensuring the provision of excellence in client service for the clients of Walshs. Annabelle holds a Bachelor of Built Environment (Interior Design) from Queensland University of Technology, Cert IV in Business Management, Diploma of Business, and a Diploma of Leadership and Management. Annabelle commenced a Master of Business Administration in 2021 and moved into her role as General Manager in 2022.

Naomi Beggs

HR Manager

Naomi has been working at Walshs Practice since 2015 and has worked in a variety of divisions of the business. Naomi is passionate about ensuring all of the Walshs Team feel supported and have a positive experience working at Walshs. She does this by implementing her skills as a counsellor and drawing on her experience working at Walshs.

Naomi became HR Manager in 2022 and is an ACA Level 2 Counsellor, who holds a Master of Counselling and Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology) from QUT.

Ben first joined public practice in 2016, he brings together a wide range of accounting and taxation knowledge with a focus on SME’s, high net worth individuals and the health sector. Further to this Ben specialises in management accounting, business development, business valuations and the due diligence process. This has enabled him to provide sound advice for clients throughout their business lifecycles.

His congenial character enables him to develop close working relationships with clients whilst focusing on achieving holistic outcomes. Ben holds a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia.

Sandra Marshall

Senior Client Manager

Sandra has over 25 years’ experience in the taxation field and has been at Walshs Practice since 2001. Sandra’s qualifications include:
• Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand (CA ANZ) • Graduate Diploma in Advance Accounting (Queensland University of Technology) • Bachelor of Business (Accountancy) (Queensland University of Technology)
She specialises in providing accounting and taxation services to taxpayers, including employees, investors and retirees and small business clients operating as sole traders, companies, trusts and partnerships. She also plays an integral part in the training and mentoring of our junior staff.

Jet Jiang


Jet joined the Walshs team in 2022 with 5 years experience working as an operational manager in the education industry. Here at Walshs, Jet is focused on the preparation of tax and financial reports for small to medium business clients. Jet holds a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting and is a provisional member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia.

Tanya Bridge

Client Manager

Tanya joined the Walshs team in 2017 and has been working with a variety of clients including business and investment groups. Tanya is committed to working with clients on developing meaningful relationships and achieving the best outcomes.

Tanya graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (Distinction) from the University of Southern Queensland, is a Chartered Accountant, Qualified Justice of the Peace, and a Fellow of the Tax Institute.

Sophie Wataman

Client Services Coordinator, P.A. to Hugh Walsh

Sophie joined the Walshs team in 2019 commencing as an administrator within the administration team. Sophie has since moved into Client Service Coordinator roles for the Wealth Health and Private Practice Teams. Sophie is now P.A. to Hugh Walsh and Client Service Coordinator to Hugh’s clients. Sophie brings with 7 years of client service experience and knowledge to her role.

Tasha joined Walshs in 2023 to work on the accounting administration team. Having worked closely with clients in previous roles she is passionate about people and driven to improve client experience. Tasha has some experience in the world of finance and is eager to continue her learning journey at Walshs.

Lauren Carney

Client Services Coordinator, P.A. to Stewart McLeod

Lauren joined Walshs in 2023 to work in the Tax & Accounting team as an administrator, she is the PA to Stewart McLeod and Client Service Coordinator for Stewart's clients. Lauren brings previous experience working as a Personal Assistant and knowledge about medical professionals to her role, with her previous experience this has led her to continue her career development at Walshs in administration.

Senior Accountant

Roarke is an accountant at Walshs, having worked in the Industry since 2019. With a focus on delivering tax and accounting services, Roarke is committed to providing an exceptional outcome to all Walshs clients. Currently holding a Bachelor of Commerce with majors in Accounting and Finance from the University of Queensland and is a provisional member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.

Amit Kumar

Senior Accountant

Amit started his career in accounting in 2017 and has been an accountant at Walshs since he joined the team in 2020.

Amit holds Bachelor of Science, Master of Professional Accounting, and is a provisional member of the Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand.

Josh Scheuber

Senior Accountant

Josh is an accountant at Walshs, having worked in accounting since 2011 first starting at Walshs in 2018. Josh has a strong focus on client satisfaction and delivering the best possible outcome for his clients. Currently with a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting and Financial Management and almost completed his studies to become a Chartered Accountant in Australia.

Rachel McGrath


Rachel joined the Walshs team in 2022, focusing on the preparation of tax returns for medical professionals. She is focused on providing exceptional client satisfaction to all Walshs clients.
Rachel holds a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) and Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Taxation). She is also a provisional member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.

Paula Ferreira


Paula joined with Walshs in January 2024 as part of the Private Practice team.
Originally from Brazil, Paula has been in Aus since 2016. She has completed her Bachelors of International Business back in Brazil and also her Master of Accounting here in Australia.
Paula has been working in accounting since 2020. Proud to offer a great customer service experience to all clients, as well as, focusing on a tailored accounting work to meet each client's needs.

Megan Simmons

Client Services Coordinator and P.A. to Ben Knoblanche

Meg started at Walshs in December 2022 as Client Services Coordinator and Personal Assistant to Kaitlin Brock. With over 4 years of experience in administration and client service, Meg brings excellent communication and organisational skills to her role and strives to continuously provide friendly and efficient client experiences.

Alex Firman


Alex has been an accountant at Walshs since 2021. With a focus on delivering second-to-none client service, Alex is committed to providing the best possible outcome for all Walshs clients.

Alex holds a Bachelor of Advanced Business (Hon) with majors in Accounting, Business Analytics, and Finance from the University of Queensland and is a provisional member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.

Quynh started with Walshs in 2023.
Quynh is committed to provide quality tax and accounting services to clients whilst ensuring they enjoy their Walshs experience.
Quynh graduated from the University of Queensland with a Master of Commerce, majoring in Accounting and Finance and is set to commence Chartered Accountant studies in 2024

Christina Dao

Client Services Coordinator

Originally from New Zealand, Christina moved to Brisbane in 2014 and joined Walshs in 2019 as our receptionist. She has since moved into a Client Service Co-Ordinator role in our Private Practice Team. With a background in customer and client service, Christina is focused on providing a great client experience.  

George Paterson


George has been working as an accountant since 2021 and joined the Walshs team in 2023. Before joining Walshs, George has worked with clients spanning a range of industries and is committed to delivering outcomes to clients unique to their needs.
George holds a Bachelor of Science, Graduate Certificate in Biotechnology, and a Bachelor of Business,, and is currently a provisional member of Chartered Accountants ANZ

Jin Sung Ahn


Jin-Sung joined Walshs in 2023 where he will focus on tax and accounting services for our Private Practice clients. He spent over two years as an accountant working in a role where he looked after small trading businesses such as cafes, restaurants and other small traders.
Jin-Sung graduated with a Master of Accounting from the University of Tasmania and plans to become a CA very soon whilst. In the meantime he looks forward to working with Walshs clients and gaining further expertise in tax and accounting services.

Nitai joined the Wealth Health Team in November 2022 and is dedicated to delivering exceptional client satisfaction to all Walshs' clients.
Nitai holds a bachelor's degree in business, majoring in accounting from the Queensland University of Technology, and is set to commence his chartered accounting studies within the coming months.

Ethan started with Walsh’s in 2023 as part of the Wealth Health Team, with a focus on providing tax and accounting services, he is committed to providing top-notch client service and achieving the best result for all of his clients.
Ethan is a final year Bachelor of Advanced Business (majoring in Accounting and Finance) student at Griffith University, with aspirations to commence his Chartered Accountant studies shortly after.

Caitlin Holmes

Caitlin joined Walshs as a member of the Wealth Health Team at the start of 2024.
She is currently completing her Masters of Business (Professional Accounting) at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and aspires to complete her Chartered Accountant (CA) studies post-graduation in mid-2025.

Noah Walsh

Noah joined the Wealth Health team in March 2024. He is currently studying a Bachelor of Business double majoring in Accounting and Management at QUT.
As an undergraduate accountant at Walsh’s, Noah is committed to delivering exceptional client satisfaction within accounting services as well as developing as an accountant and broadening his tax knowledge.
Noah is looking forward to the completion of his degree and looks to commencing study into becoming a Charted Accountant.

Aryan Nouri

Aryan joined the Walshs Wealth Health team in April 2024, he is currently studying a Bachelor of Advanced Finance and Economics (Honours) at UQ.
Aryan is focused on delivering an exceptional client experience around the board whilst strengthening his finance and accounting skills, particularly regarding tax legislation.

Will joined the wealth health team in January 2024. He is currently studying a Bachelor of Advanced Business (honours) at UQ.

Jayne has worked in Administration for many years and joined the Walshs Team in 2017 in administration assistance.

Jayne now works as client services coordinator within the self-managed super fund team.

Cheryl Jones

Senior Bookkeeper

For over 38 years, Cheryl has worked as a bookkeeper and is knowledgeable in all facets of bookkeeping. Cheryl joined the Walshs team in 2017. As the manager of the bookkeeping team she supervises accounting and bookkeeping tasks, BAS and IAS, superannuation, Workcover and compliance for a variety of clients and entities.

Cheryl specialises in on-boarding new clients and seeing them through from initial set up to end of year processing and communicating along the way with one-on-one training and support. Her passion is to see her clients grow and achieve their goals and dreams and assisting them along the way.

Cheryl has a Certificate IV in Financial Services and is a registered BAS agent and a member of the Australian Bookkeepers Association.

Johanna Ould

Senior Bookkeeper

Johanna has been a Senior Bookkeeper at Walshs since 2011. With over 35 years’ experience covering a variety of business entity and medical practice bookkeeping, Johanna provides expert knowledge to her clients, including an in-depth knowledge of payroll and Super obligations. Johanna is very focused on driving great client outcomes and works closely with many of our longstanding and valued clients.

Sarina Love

Senior Bookkeeper

Sarina has worked as a bookkeeper for over 6 years, and she joined the Walshs team in 2018.

Sarina is very focused on client service and attention to detail. She holds a Certificate IV in Bookkeeping.

Toni Golik

Senior Bookkeeper

Toni has worked in finance and accounting across various industries for more than 20 years. She has been working in public and private practice for over two years and currently holds a Certificate IV in Accounting. Toni is well versed across multiple commercial accounting software platforms in the marketplace as well as being certified in Xero, QuickBooks and MYOB Essentials. She enjoys specialising in accounts payable and auditing and is seeking out ways to improve the user interface. In her free time Toni loves to paint and also has a skipper's license.

Susan started with Walshs in 2014 coming from a background of retail sales, customer service, and accounting administration. As Walshs has grown, Susan’s role has evolved and diversified through a range of areas. Susan has experience in corporate secretarial, bookkeeping, and accounts receivable at Walshs and is an integral member of the team.

Moana Hamilton

Corporate Secretarial Manager

Moana joined the Walshs administration team in 2009 and has worked in various roles across the business during this time, including client service coordinator, and taxation administration. Moana now manages the Corporate Secretarial needs for all Walshs’ Clients and brings her considerable knowledge and expertise to this role.

Moana holds a Diploma of Business Administration and Management.

Megan Rafter

With five years prior experience in accounting and finance administration, Meg joined the Walshs Team in 2020 as a client services coordinator for the clients of Hugh Walsh. From the start of the 2022 financial year, Meg will work alongside Michael Walsh as client services coordinator for Michael’s valued client base.

Meg holds a Bachelor of Business majoring in Tourism Management and Marketing.

With a previous background in hospitality, she takes pride in her attention to detail and time management skills.

Trish is an experienced business owner, having operated her own business supporting women in the birthing world since 2006. In 2018, Trish joined Walshs as an administrator in the accounts department, to seek out opportunities for additional knowledge and stimulation. Enjoying her role with Walshs, she became a permanent and valued member of the Walshs Team in 2020.

Andrea Finley

Marketing and Sponsorships Manager

Andrea joined the Walshs team in 2022 as Marketing Officer. With over 15 years experience in marketing, advertising and communications she takes pride in drafting creative marketing solutions. Andrea has diplomas in both media communication and hospitality and tourism and is driven by a love of writing. She has developed engaging content for newspapers, magazines, radio, television and online campaigns and enjoys building collaborative relationships and initiatives that benefit Walshs' clients.

Charlotte Watson

Receptionist & Client Concierge

Charlotte who prefers to be known as Charlie, joined the Walshs team in 2023 as the receptionist and client concierge for Walshs.
Charlie has a background in the childcare industry and has brought her bubbly, caring and people focused personality to the Walshs team. Charlie enjoys working at the front of the business, welcoming our clients and has learned quickly about the financial services industry where she now assists the Walshs team in various administrative and marketing tasks.
