We believe strongly in being a part of our community and giving back wherever and whenever we can.
We welcome and encourage our team to give back to our community through charity events and fundraising.
Recent events the Walshs team have contributed to include a 55km walk to raise funds for the Leukaemia Foundation, RACQ International Women’s Day Fun Run, Fiji Build and Habitat for Humanity.
We also have ongoing partnerships with several charitable organisations that we are extremely proud to support both financially and with pro bono financial and tax advice.
Small Steps 4 Hannah
We are proud to support and sponsor Small Steps 4 Hannah, an organisation very close to our heart which is committed to halting the cycle of domestic violence in Australia.
We have a close and personal connection to the Brisbane-based charity as Walshs’ Financial Planning Managing Director & Founder Simon Farmer’s family were close friends with Hannah and her three beautiful children.
Following the terrible incident in early 2020, Simon and his family vowed to support the Clarke family and to ensure education and raising awareness goes a long way to preventing this from happening again.
Drawing on his financial background and extensive networks, Simon was instrumental in the establishment of the charity and is now an active Board member.
Walshs’ CEO of Accounting and Taxation, Michael Walsh, also acts as Small Steps 4 Hannah’s Treasurer and a Board member.
Simon and Michael proudly donate their time to support the Board and its initiatives. The Walshs team as a whole also participate in a number of fundraising events and activities to support the charity.
By referring us to your friends and colleagues you will help young Australians with high care needs. As part of our dedication to giving back to our local communities, we have set up a corporate partnership with Brisbane-based, not-for-profit organisation, YoungCare.
Every time one of our existing clients refers us to a friend or colleague, we have pledged a donation to help YoungCare spearhead powerful change for young people with high care needs. Each donation will help YoungCare to provide fully accessible and age-appropriate living spaces, grants for equipment and home modifications and support through a national phone line for young people aged 16 – 65 with high care needs.
Since Walshs’ inception 30 years ago we have made it our priority to help make a difference within our communities and we are happy to support YoungCare’s amazing work.

We are proud of our support of Aussie Kidz Charity which includes ongoing pro bono financial and taxation advice.
Based in Brisbane, Aussie Kidz Charity helps disabled and under-privileged children across Australia live better lives through the provision of equipment and services that they otherwise could not afford to buy.
Aussie Kidz is an innovative charity and distinguishes itself from other charities in three main ways:
- It is completely volunteer based
- It has very low operating costs – with these being predominantly met by the Directors.
- Its aim is to ensure 100% of funds raised go directly to support its clients – the kids.
Aussie Kidz Charity maintains this low overhead model by primarily raising funds via fundraising events and rely heavily on corporate sponsors to donate goods and services.
We are proud to partner with this wonderful organisation and their annual Charity Luncheon.
Brisbane Basket Brigade supports our local Brisbane community in a very meaningful way by providing food and gifts for people that need a hand, including children, the elderly and the homeless.
This wonderful charity fundraises throughout the year to put together baskets that are delivered to families anonymously close to Christmas.
Each year, Walshs are proud to help pack these gifts in the annual ‘Basket Buddies’ day allowing us participate in a worthwhile event while also enjoying time together in the lead up to the Christmas season.
