When Walshs’ team member Rachael Brooks-Donald was diagnosed with breast cancer late in 2019, it didn’t take long for our team to rally around her.
Inspired by Rachael’s positive attitude and fighting spirit, 33 staff members have already signed up to take part in RACQ’s International Women’s Day Fun Run as part of the ‘Walshs Warriors’ team.
By running, jogging or walking the 6 or 10km course around Brisbane’s CBD, across the Story Bridge and through the Botanic Gardens on Sunday 8 March, the Walshs team will be raising money for personalised, practical support services and life-saving breast cancer research at the Mater Hospital.
Wearing a sea of pink t-shirts the participants aim to show women with breast cancer that they are not alone.
To support our team towards reaching their target of at least $3000, Walshs has agreed to cover the registration fees as well as helping with fundraising efforts.
More than 1000 women with breast cancer are treated at the Mater each year and every dollar makes a difference.
