Thirty-three enthusiastic members of the ‘Walshs Warriors’ team took to the streets of Brisbane’s CBD yesterday to raise money for services and breast cancer research at the Mater Hospital as part of the RACQ International Women’s Day Fun Run.
The team was completing the run in support of Walshs’ team member, Rachael Brooks-Donald, who is bravely fighting breast cancer.
With some members of the team completing the 6km course, and others the 10km, the team racked up an impressive list of achievements. Rachael even made it on to 7 News as they interviewed her alongside members of her family during the walk.
- Accountant, Lachlan Munro ran the 6km in 26:09 and was crowned the fastest male in the 20-29 year old category
- Adviser, Matt Gellweiler, ran the 6km in 28:01
- Walshs Partner, Hugh Walsh, ran the 10km in 41:41
- Annabelle Clare ran the 10km in 54:30
Together the team has raised $7263, smashing their original goal of $3000! Donations are still open for another few weeks. Go to http://bit.ly/2GVnLVG
Well done to all the ‘Walshs Warriors’ team for their outstanding effort.
